The Library will host a two-part virtual panel discussion based on a series of short videos for Mainers growing their first vegetable garden. University of Maine Cooperative Extension created the videos. Pamela Hargest, Horticulture Professional on the Cooperative Extension staff with two Master Gardener Volunteers from the team will lead two panel discussions to address questions, one in spring and the second in very early summer. Participants are encouraged to view the first four fifteen-minute videos (episodes 1-4) prior to the first panel discussion on Thursday, April 15 at 6:30 pm and the next four fifteen-minute videos (episodes 5-8) prior to the discussion on Thursday, June 24 at 6:30 pm. Tom Witwicki, Master Gardener Volunteer, Class of 2017 and Tyra Mitchell, Master Gardener Volunteer, Class of 2018 will join Pamela Hargest for the first panel discussion.Both programs are free and open to the public; people are invited to register for one or both programs.
