At the library, we love summer and we love reading! There is something wonderful about reading a book outdoors on a beautiful day.
In the summer you often can read a book that you choose. But sometimes it’s difficult to find a book that you want to read. Just ask us! The staff in the Youth Services Room loves to suggest just the right books for you. Do you like mysteries, adventure stories, fantasy, science fiction, dystopian novels, romances? Or maybe you only want to read dystopian romances, like someone I know. Or maybe you are just dying (oops no pun intended) to read a book like The Fault in Our Stars. We know lots and lots of books and love suggesting titles to help you find the next book you can read at the beach, at the lake, or in a hammock.
And summer also means it’s time for our great Summer Reading Program! More information will be coming about all our great events, beginning with jugglers at the kick-off on June 17th, and continuing for teens on Wednesday evenings with a superhero movie, drawing with an artist, making mini-marshmallow catapults, learning about the Middle Ages with the Society for Creative Anachronism, and making homemade ice cream and polymer bouncy balls! Stay tuned for more information soon.
