Writes of Summer

The Library introduced a new writing competition to this year's Summer Reading Program. The Writes of Summer Young Writers Contest invited young authors in Grades 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 to submit their original stories or poems. Submissions were read by guest judges, and finalists participated in a special reception held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 6:30 pm. The winning selections are posted below. We encourage you to take a moment to read these creative works of fiction and poetry.
