Janet's Book Group, Grades 4 and 5, Frindle

This fun group is a great way to make new “book buddies!” The summer schedule will run Thursdays from June 29 thru July 20. We will be reading Frindle by Andrew Clements. This clever story will have kids racing to the finish! You can borrow the book through our Minerva catalog using your library card. R.E.A.D. Therapy Dogs

Our R.E.A.D. Therapy Dog sessions begin June 30 from 10;30am to 11:30am with a visit from Emmie and her owner, Mindy Beller. Reading aloud to these wonderful, gentle dogs helps builds confidence in emerging and reluctant readers. Movie Night: Grades 6 and up. Honey just got funny! In this animated movie, Barry B. Benson, a bee who just graduated from college, is disillusioned at his lone career choice: making honey. On a special trip outside the hive, Barry's life is saved by Vanessa, a florist in New York City. As their relationship blossoms, he discovers humans actually eat honey and decides to sue the human race - upheaving nature!

STWG Summer Schedule!

Summer Scarborough Teen Writing Group

Great news! Our teen writing group, offered in collaboration with Portland Writers Group Maine (PWGM), will continue to meet over the summer. The group will meet on the following Thursdays: July 6, 20 and August 3, 17 from 6:00pm to 7:45pm. This supportive gathering gives teens the opportunity to get feedback on their work and comment on others’ writing.
