Media Smart Family Event

Raising Media Smart Families, Scarborough Public Library, Scarborough School Department

Our Library is partnering with the Scarborough Public Schools to introduce important digital literacy skills to all ages within our community using content and services provided by Common Sense, a non-profit organization dedicated to "helping kids thrive in a world of media and technology.” The initiative will start with elementary school children—a critical age for developing smart media habits.

Learn tips on searching the catalog, downloading eBooks and eAudiobooks, and exploring our online self-guided learning platforms. We’ll also share free resources available to you through the Maine State Library and Portland Public Library.

Armchair Travelogue, Yellowstone National Park, Jonathan Rundell

If you missed Jonathan Rundell’s presentation on Glacier National Park, you’ll want to mark this date on your calendar! Join Jonathan and five Maine and New Hampshire backpackers for a “virtual” trip as they spend eight nights on the trail in Wyoming and Montana. We’ll start with five nights in the northwest corner of Yellowstone National Park— including an ascent of 11,000 foot Electric Peak.
