Teen Writers Group

Scarborough Teen Writers Group, Portland Writers Group, Scarborough Public Library, teen writing

For Grades 9 thru 12. The Scarborough Teen Writers Group for high school teens returns the third Monday of the month with a new format! Renee Cote with Portland Writers Group Maine will introduce different ways to inspire your work—from prompts and storyboards, to online tools like Twine, an onliine tool for telling interactive, nonlinear stories. The last gathering in May will offer a chance for writers to share their work with friends and family.

Minecraft Miner Day

Minecraft Miner Day, Scarborough Public Library

Libraries across the country are using Minecraft to introduce technology literacy to kiddos in their communities. Explore the Library’s Minecraft world created by our volunteer “tech teens!” We’ll begin with a session just for beginners at 1:00 PM, then everyone can join in starting at 2:00 PM. If you’ve created your own Minecraft world, bring it along to show others on our big screen! Computers will be available, or you can bring your own laptop. No sign up is needed—just drop in!
