Monarch Butterfly Outdoor Story Time at Memorial Park with Guest Reader Kelly Pietrzak
Kelly Pietrzak, homeschooling parent, Scarborough Land Trust volunteer, and community educator, will share Monarch butterfly-themed stories for a live audience at Memorial Park at this week's Outdoor Story Time! Children and families are welcome to join us at the gazebo on Wednesday, August 24 at 10:00am.
Monarch butterflies have been added to the Endangered Species list. Come learn about what we can do to help these beautiful butterflies. Stories for all ages will be read first, and then we will interact with the caterpillars afterwards in a nature lesson appropriate for preschool-aged children and older. Dress to explore the perimeter of the pond in search of caterpillars and eggs and bring a net something to sit on. Scarborough Public Library presents this special program in collaboration with the Scarborough Land Trust.
This Outdoor Story Time is weather dependent. Please follow the Library's website and social media for updated information.
