The Friends of the Scarborough Library is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community‑based, volunteer organization that supports the Scarborough Public Library through advocacy, fundraising, and community engagement, helping to enhance library programs, collections, and special initiatives beyond what public funding alone can provide. 

Founded in 1970, the group raises money through book sales, memberships, and donations, sponsors free events for people of all ages, and encourages a love of reading and lifelong learning while strengthening the library as an inclusive hub for the Scarborough community.
