Charlie CartThe Charlie Cart Project is built around two core components: the cart itself and the broader system of educational resources that come with it. The cart is a fully mobile, compact teaching kitchen designed to be rolled into classrooms, community centers, or any learning space for hands-on cooking. It’s practical, approachable, and intentionally designed for group learning and active participation. Charlie Cart Project members can also access curriculum that integrates cooking with academic subjects like math, science, and literacy. There are lesson plans, teaching guides, and adaptable resources to integrate cooking into existing learning goals. The project is a way to bring food education, hands-on learning, and life skills into everyday teaching. We're still working on purchasing our Charlie Cart, and setting up programming around it. Stay tuned for more information! www.charliecart.org |

EV ChargingElectric Vehicle Charging Station in front of the library providing complimentary charging to library visitors. EV charging stations make clean transportation more accessible while benefiting both the environment and the local community. By providing a convenient place to charge electric vehicles, these stations encourage more people to switch from gas‑powered cars to EVs, which reduces greenhouse‑gas emissions and air pollution. Charging stations also support sustainability goals by pairing well with renewable energy sources, help attract visitors and customers who drive EVs, and signal that the library and community partners are investing in a cleaner, future‑focused infrastructure. Charging stations promote environmental responsibility, economic growth, and long‑term energy resilience. Learn more about this service |

Game NightOn one Friday night each month, the library opens the entire building for the community to get together and play board games. Pizza and soft drinks included. Playing board games brings people together for meaningful face‑to‑face interaction while encouraging conversation and connection. Games help exercise the brain by building skills like problem‑solving, strategy, memory, and critical thinking. They also offer a break from screens and teach important behavior such as patience, cooperation, and handling wins and losses gracefully. Game Night is for people of all ages and skill levels. Solar PanelsRooftop solar panels generating electricity for the library. Rooftop solar panels allow the library to generate clean, renewable electricity right where it is used, which lowers energy bills and reduces dependence on fossil fuels. By producing power from sunlight, panels help cut greenhouse‑gas emissions and improve air quality, while also increasing energy independence and resilience. Rooftop solar makes use of existing roof-space without new land development, and supports a more sustainable, future‑focused energy system for the community. Learn more about this service |
