We appreciate the opportunity to answer your questions about the plans for the Library Expansion. We have a dedicated website which provides updated FAQs and information about the planning that has gone into the development of the proposal.
You will find the earliest concepts presented in 2020 at the first public conversation to explore building layout, service adjacencies, and site impact including parking. From these early sketches, the professional library staff worked with the architectural design team for two more years to develop a plan to address our service and space needs, incorporating function and flexibility, that will serve you for the next 30 years. You will find these space needs descriptions on the dedicated website, illustrated using images of our existing conditions and from libraries we feel represent good solutions. This project has been carefully planned and respectfully timed to come before you, the voters, this November. Scarborough's voting and elections information is available on the town website. Ballots are two-sided so please remember to turn your ballot over!
