Grateful for Community

A Message from the Director --

Early July 2024

Before I write anything else, I would like to thank you, our library community, for your support and understanding with the Interlibrary Loan pause. Your thoughtfulness has put everyone at ease, and you continue to motivate us to find temporary solutions.

Recent updates that I have received are only technical updates, the eta of the delivery service’s return stands at an optimistic August. I will stress that while the timing of this is dreadful, it is a temporary issue, and we will be back with the deliveries. Interlibrary loans will return, this is a lengthy and uncomfortable hiccup.

We are exploring options with partner libraries to see if we can stretch our services in one way, or the other. Feel free to wave me over and ask for an update, I am always looking forward to an opportunity to chat.

For those of you who attend Concert in the Park, Nancy Crowell and I will be accepting a Scarborough Chamber of Commerce 25th Anniversary grant for the generator on July 3. As many of you know, this is a project that nicely encapsulates Nancy’s passion for serving the Scarborough community. If you don’t get a chance to get out on the 3rd, be sure to sing the Chamber your praises. Among the ten grant recipients are Scarborough Rotary, the Lion’s Club, Scarborough Historical Society, and Project GRACE.

Thank you, Scarborough. We are deeply grateful and fortunate to serve you!
