Messages from the Director

You may have encountered this Danish term meaning cozy, a feeling of contentment, and enjoying good things. It encourages comforters, candles, a warm beverage, and of course a great book to read. (Perhaps one of several that are on the topic of hygge, pronounced hyoo-guh.)

Not everyone in our community has an easy time practicing hygge. The need for heating assistance is very real for some of our neighbors. You can help by attending the annual Fuel Rally sponsored by Project G.R.A.C.E. on Saturday, February 11, 10am – noon, at the Town Hall and Public Safety building. Chili and Chowder may be ordered through the Rally website and online donations are being accepted. 

Each new year brings us a chance to review the past and consider opportunities for the future. The public library is a unique resource that specializes in recording the past, engaging the present, and inspiring the future. Our collections, programs, and community outreach reflect our values and our mission to serve you. For you to take full advantage of what we offer, we need to keep you informed as we respond to the interests and needs of our citizens.
